Azure Search Developer

We are seeking a skilled Azure Search Developer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience working with enterprise search platforms such as Azure Cognitive Search, ElasticSearch, IDOL, or similar technologies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing multiple large-scale search indexes, each containing over 50 million documents, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Search Platform Development

Design, implement, and maintain search solutions using Azure Cognitive Search (preferred).

Develop and manage large-scale indexes (50+ million documents per index).

Configure indexing pipelines, data ingestion workflows, and enrichment

Implement custom scoring profiles, ranking models, and relevance

Performance & Scalability

Optimize search queries for performance and

Monitor and improve index performance, latency, and

Design scalable architectures to handle high-volume indexing and search

Manage incremental indexing and re-indexing

Data & Integration

Integrate search platforms with content management systems, APIs, and backend

Work with structured and unstructured data

Implement data normalization, transformation, and enrichment

Monitoring & Maintenance

Monitor search health, indexing jobs, and error

Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize query

Ensure high availability and reliability of search

Collaboration

Work closely with architects, backend developers, and DevOps

Participate in requirement analysis and solution design

Provide technical documentation and knowledge

Required Skills & Experience

4–6 years of experience working with search engines such as:
- Azure Cognitive Search
- ElasticSearch
- IDOL or similar enterprise search platforms

Hands-on experience managing high-volume indexes (multi-million document scale).

Strong understanding of indexing strategies, query optimization, and relevance

Experience handling structured and unstructured

Strong knowledge of REST APIs and search service

Experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks in large-scale

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with distributed architecture and cloud-based

Exposure to Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, ).

Knowledge of monitoring and logging

Experience working in Agile/Scrum
