Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, resilient, and secure backend systems. In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects, mentor team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to design, develop, and optimize backend services that power mission-critical applications. You’ll combine creativity with analytical precision to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, setting goals and ensuring team success.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and reliable backend applications.
• Participate in system architecture and design discussions, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers and UI/UX designers for seamless integration.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established coding standards.
• Implement unit testing and test-driven development (TDD) to ensure high code quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues efficiently, ensuring optimal system performance.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and recommend improvements to enhance infrastructure.
• Manage backend PODs, conduct performance reviews, and provide mentorship and feedback.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and system scalability.

Core Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Azure services and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
• Solid understanding of unit testing principles and frameworks like Jest or JUnit.
• Experience implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and using CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Java for backend integration is a plus.
