Backend Engineer (SE & SSE)

We are looking for skilled and experienced Backend Engineers to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable backend systems and collaborating closely with global counterparts. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate and develop backend software solutions.
• Design and implement robust and scalable web architectures.
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable databases and applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives with global team counterparts.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality, automated deployments.
• Develop backend systems supporting responsive and mobile-friendly applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve application performance with innovative solutions.
• Follow coding best practices and contribute to maintaining a high standard of software quality.
• Support peer code reviews and mentor junior engineers as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Ruby or Ruby on Rails development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Solid grasp of Ruby syntax and common idioms.
• Proficient in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and frameworks like Angular, React, or Node.js.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Knowledge of web servers (e.g., Apache) and modern UI/UX design principles.
• Experience with unit testing and testing frameworks.
• Understanding of messaging systems like ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with DevOps, version control systems like Git or SVN, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS).
• Commitment to writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in e-commerce platforms.
• Understanding of e-commerce marketplaces like Amazon.com, Walmart.com, etc.
• Prior experience in high-stakes business environments.
• Experience conducting performance reviews, 1-on-1 meetings, and participating in team hiring.
