Backend Lead (Node.js, Serverless, AWS Cloud Native)

Requirements

• Seasoned Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and serverless AWS architectures.
  


• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable backend services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance applications.
  


• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js.
  


• Architect serverless solutions on AWS, leveraging Lambda, API Gateway, and other cloud-native services.
  


• Use Terraform to manage AWS infrastructure as code with reliable and repeatable deployments.
  


• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  


• Model and integrate NoSQL databases (DynamoDB), ensuring performance and scalability.
  


• Implement secure authentication/authorization mechanisms, including SSO and Firebase integration.
  


• Apply TDD principles and maintain high standards of code quality and security.
  


• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive best practices in the team.
  


• Continuously improve development workflows, tooling, and system performance.
  


• Node.js & TypeScript: Expert-level proficiency.
  


• Express.js: Strong experience building robust APIs.
  


• AWS Serverless: Hands-on experience with Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.
  


• Infrastructure as Code: Proficient in Terraform for deploying serverless applications.
  


• Databases: Deep knowledge of DynamoDB, including data modeling and query optimization.
  


• Security & Auth: Experience with SSO, OAuth, and Firebase Auth.
  


• Testing: Proficient with unit testing (Jest, Mocha) and test automation.
  


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
  


• Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
  


• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
  


• Performance tuning and optimization of Node.js apps and AWS services.
