Backend Software Engineer (Python / Scala)

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience in building scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in either Python or Scala, along with experience designing distributed systems, developing RESTful APIs, and working with cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python or Scala.
  


• Build secure, reliable, and high-performing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  


• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
  


• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  


• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.
  


• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  


• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
  


• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments.
  

Required Skills

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
  


• Strong proficiency in either Python or Scala (expertise in one is sufficient).
  


• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
  


• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
  


• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
  


• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  


• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  


• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  


• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
  


• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven or distributed system architectures.
  


• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
  


• Experience with automated testing frameworks and performance optimization.
  


• Understanding of security best practices for backend applications.
