Backup Administrator

Job Description:

• Experience in Veritas NetBackup Administration
• Veritas NetBackup 10.4 advanced data protection with integrated cyber resiliency.
• Good Understanding of Backup technology Veritas Netbackup
• Good Understanding of Backup technology Veritas Netbackup Architecture
• Candidate should have a good knowledge on the understand of Backup architecture Backup components
• Able to perform restore via Veritas NetBackup with respect to VM SQL Exchange NDMP
• Veritas NetBackup appliances Veritas Access Opscenter Media Servers

The Veritas NetBackup Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's Veritas NetBackup infrastructure. This role includes configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability. The administrator will work closely with IT teams to implement best practices and support disaster recovery plans.

• Backup Management : Configure and manage Veritas NetBackup environments, including backup policies, schedules, and retention periods.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Monitor backup jobs, identify and resolve issues, and ensure successful completion of all backup and recovery processes.
• System Maintenance : Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning of the backup infrastructure.
• Disaster Recovery : Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure data can be recovered in the event of data loss or system failure.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and recovery processes.
• Security and Compliance : Ensure that backup and recovery processes comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application developers, to support and optimize backup operations.
• Technical Support : Provide technical support for backup and recovery issues, including on-call support as required.
• Capacity Planning : Assess and plan for future storage and backup needs based on growth and usage patterns.
• Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on backup status, performance, and capacity utilization.
