BI Developer

We are seeking a Power BI Developer with 2–5 years of experience to
design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable
insights. The role requires strong technical skills in data modeling, DAX
optimization, and integration with enterprise data sources. You will
collaborate with Product, IT, and Business teams to deliver scalable and
reliable reporting solutions that support data‑driven decision making,
particularly within the General Insurance domain.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Development & Delivery

• Develop
  interactive dashboards, reports, and paginated reports using Power BI.
  
• Build
  advanced data models including Star Schema, Snowflake, and Composite
  Models.
  
• Optimize
  DAX queries and perform performance tuning across datasets and reports.
  
• Implement
  Power Query transformations for efficient data preparation.
  
• Manage
  workspace access, role assignments, and secure publishing of dashboards.
  

Standards & Best Practices

• Apply
  enterprise Power BI development standards, patterns, and best practices.
  
• Build
  semantic models and reusable datasets under established guidelines.
  
• Implement
  visualization standards, naming conventions, and metadata documentation.
  

Data Security

• Configure
  and enforce Row‑Level Security (RLS), workspace security, and access
  governance.
  

Performance Optimization

• Improve
  performance across datasets, data models, reports, and workspaces.
  
• Monitor
  dashboard usage and implement enhancements.
  

Visualization Storytelling

• Translate
  complex datasets into clear, compelling visual narratives for decision‑makers.
  
• Design
  dashboards that highlight trends, KPIs, and actionable insights in a user‑friendly
  way.
  

Advanced Analytics Integration

• Incorporate
  predictive models, statistical analysis, and advanced KPIs into
  dashboards.
  
• Collaborate
  with Data Science teams to embed machine learning outputs into Power BI
  solutions.
  

Domain Knowledge – General Insurance

• Develop
  dashboards and reports tailored to insurance portfolios, claims,
  underwriting, and risk management.
  
• Apply
  understanding of insurance KPIs such as loss ratios, claim
  frequency/severity, premium trends, and exposure analysis.
  
• Support
  actuarial, risk, Operations, and business teams with data‑driven insights
  for decision making.
  

Collaboration & Enablement

• Work
  with Product Owners and Business stakeholders to translate requirements
  into effective dashboards.
  
• Coordinate
  with IT, IT Security and DevOps teams for infrastructure provisioning,
  deployment, and troubleshooting.
  
• Provide
  training and support to business users on dashboard usage and self‑service
  analytics.
  
• Promote
  a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in
  reporting practices.
  

• 2–5
  years of experience in Power BI development.
  
• Strong
  foundation in advanced data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake, Composite
  Models).
  
• Expertise
  in DAX optimization and performance tuning.
  
• Proficiency
  in Power Query / data transformation.
  
• Hands‑on
  experience with source connections including PostgreSQL, MS Fabric, SharePoint,
  MS Planner, and Azure DevOps.
  
• Strong
  SQL skills with understanding of data warehouse architecture.
  
• Experience
  with Azure / SQL Server‑based analytics platforms.
  
• Experience
  implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power BI.
  
• Ability
  to configure and enforce data security strategies, including RLS and
  workspace governance.
  
• Domain
  knowledge in General Insurance, including claims, underwriting, and risk
  analytics.
