BigID Consultant / Data Privacy & Discovery Specialist

About the Role

We are hiring a BigID Consultant / Data Privacy & Discovery Specialist to support enterprise clients in implementing and operationalizing BigID across modern cloud ecosystems, including Azure and Databricks Unity Catalog. The role requires expertise in sensitive data discovery, classification, and privacy automation, along with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and data governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and configure BigID to scan and classify data across Databricks Unity Catalog, Azure Data Lake, SQL, and other structured/unstructured sources.


• Create and manage policies to identify PII, PHI, and other sensitive data.


• Design and deploy classification rules, data-tagging logic, and remediation workflows.


• Collaborate with data governance teams to map BigID outputs into Collibra, supporting glossary alignment and stewardship.


• Support Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), RoPA, and other privacy/compliance processes using BigID automation.


• Develop and maintain BigID connectors, troubleshoot scan issues, and monitor platform performance.


• Integrate BigID with client IAM/SIEM tools or metadata platforms as required.


• Document configurations, policies, and runbooks; support knowledge transfer to client teams.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of hands-on BigID experience, including classification, discovery, remediation, and privacy workflows.


• Experience with Azure data stack, including ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse, ADF, and Databricks Unity Catalog.


• Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, and Quebec Law 25.


• Familiarity with data governance platforms, preferably Collibra, and metadata alignment practices.


• Ability to write basic scripts or API integrations using Python, REST, or PowerShell.


• Strong troubleshooting and client-facing communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BigID certifications or hands-on experience across multiple client implementations.


• Experience with DSPM, Zero Trust, or AI/ML data readiness governance.
