Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bilingual Japanese-English Language Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of the Japanese language (preferably JLPT N2 level, but at least N3 level) and be comfortable in reading, writing, and speaking in Japanese. The ability to translate documents, interpret during meetings, and act as a bridge between internal and external stakeholders is a crucial aspect of this role.

You will have the opportunity to

1. travel to Japan as part of the customer service and engagement team
2. learn cyber-security domain and exposure to technical skills
3. engage in problem solving discussions with Japanese customers
4. interact with senior leaders in marquee Japanese organisations

Candidates will be expected to:

• Provide accurate translation and interpretation services from Japanese to English and vice versa, ensuring effective communication between all parties involved. Be quality conscious.

• Act as a language and cultural liaison, bridging the gap between different stakeholders within the organization and external partners.

• Collaborate with various teams to facilitate the smooth flow of operations and support cross-functional initiatives.

• Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation, reports, and presentations in both Japanese and English.

• Proactively learn and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to cybersecurity.

• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism.

Qualification

• Proficient in the Japanese language, with JLPT N3 or N2 equivalent certification (preferably N2). Having BJT J3 or higher will be an advantage.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in both Japanese and English.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in translation and interpretation.

• Proven ability to adapt quickly to new tasks, technologies, and processes.

• A passion for continuous learning and self-improvement.

• Prior knowledge or experience in the cybersecurity domain is desirable but not mandatory.

• Keen on continuous improvement, both in language capabilities and in domain knowledge

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
