Description
  • Creation and editing of drawings & models in compliance with WSP Middle East BIM Standards and detailing practices.

  • Produce accurate BIM/Revit and AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D models to agreed deadlines

  • Review designs in BIM (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit) to ensure integration of fire safety principles into the design.

  • Completion of tasks received from Engineers and Senior Consultants.

  • Should also be familiar with Autodesk software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Photoshop and Navisworks.

  • Ensure drawings are issued correctly, and filed in an appropriate manner and to Middle East standards 

  • Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical field

  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies

  • Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies

  • Ensure QMS compliance and complete accurate timesheets by set deadline

  • Focus on the delivery of high quality technical design drawings and specifications to the required regulations

  • Contribute to technical solutions on projects

  • Mentor, support and manage junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

  • Initiate and participate in design peer reviews

  • Ensure internal quality procedures are followed

  • Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline and appreciate the basic technical principles and drivers of other disciplines



Responsibilities
  • To act as PM on selected projects by managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects

  • Manage and supervise team to successfully deliver high quality discipline projects in line with the Project Life Cycle

  • Design, supervise, review and deliver high quality technical fire and life safety drawings, specifications and report to the required regulations.

  • Assist in project planning, stakeholder and risk management.

  • To ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Contribute to the delivery of project budgets, forecasts, cash and working capital targets for project.

  • Ensure project programs are met and advise on any foreseen delays

  • Participate and support internal multi-discipline knowledge sharing initiatives.



Qualifications

Mandatory skills 

  • Good working knowledge of BIM software packages

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office

  • Proven ability to produce detailed drawings (plans, sections & details) from engineers’ basic sketches 

  • Excellent working knowledge of REVIT Software (version 2015 and above). Including content creation (parametric and non-parametric families), coordination with structural and MEP elements, Revit schedules, managing work sets/ links/ visibilities, sheet setup and collaboration. 

  • The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who will take on a key role in project work, focused on timely delivery and technical excellence. 

  • The role requires involvement in numerous projects from an early stage. 

  • The ability to create and modify fire and life safety drawings/models based on NFPA and local Middle East standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary.

  • Excellent command of written and verbal English

     

Desired Skills

  • Middle East project experience is preferred

  • Middle East project experience and knowledge of NFPA/Local Authority design standards is a preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree – Architecture 

  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience in architecture or fire and life safety

Accredited degree in Fire Sciences, Architecture, similar engineering field which has transferable skills to Fire and Life Safety.

Software Skills

Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Google Sketchup Naviswork, Photoshop, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office.
