Job Description – Business Analyst (BI & AI)

1. About the Role

We are looking for a Business
Analyst – BI & AI who can bridge the gap between business requirements,
product teams, technology teams, and data-driven decision-making.

The candidate should have
strong analytical and documentation skills, with hands-on exposure to BI,
AI, data visualization, and productivity tools. The role will involve
understanding business requirements, converting them into structured product
requirements, preparing BRDs/FRDs/User Stories, analyzing business data, and
coordinating with cross-functional teams for successful implementation.

The ideal candidate should
be comfortable working across Product, Development, QA, UI/UX, Support,
Sales, and Business teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirement Management

• Understand business
  processes, user needs, and product requirements.
  
• Gather, analyze, and
  document functional and business requirements.
  
• Prepare and maintain:
  
• Business Requirement
  Documents (BRD)
  
• Functional Requirement
  Documents (FRD)
  
• User Stories
  
• Acceptance Criteria
  
• Process Flows /

• Identify gaps,
  dependencies, assumptions, and potential edge cases in requirements.
  
• Convert business
  requirements into clear and implementation-ready specifications.
  
• Participate in
  requirement discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  

BI & Data Analysis

• Work with business data
  to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights.
  
• Prepare dashboards,
  reports, and analytical views using BI tools.
  
• Understand data
  sources, data relationships, KPIs, and business metrics.
  
• Work with various databases
  to extract and validate data.
  
• Support creation of
  business dashboards and management reports.
  
• Analyze existing
  reports and recommend improvements based on business requirements.
  
• Validate data accuracy
  between source systems, reports, and dashboards.
  

AI & Productivity Tools

• Explore and utilize AI
  tools to improve requirement analysis, documentation, data analysis,
  reporting, and productivity.
  
• Use AI-assisted tools
  for:
  
• Requirement analysis
  
• User Story creation
  
• Documentation
  
• Data analysis
  
• Report/dashboard
  ideation
  
• Process optimization
  
• Stay updated with
  emerging AI, BI, analytics, and automation tools.
  
• Identify practical
  opportunities where AI can improve business processes and product
  capabilities.
  

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate effectively
  with Product, Development, QA, UI/UX, Sales, Support, and other
  departments.
  
• Act as a bridge between
  business stakeholders and technical teams.
  
• Clarify requirements
  and resolve functional ambiguities during development and testing.
  
• Participate in sprint
  planning, requirement walkthroughs, UAT, and product demonstrations.
  
• Track requirement
  changes and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
  

Product & Process Analysis

• Study existing product
  workflows and identify improvement opportunities.
  
• Analyze business
  processes and suggest process optimization.
  
• Identify functional
  gaps and translate them into product enhancement requirements.
  
• Support product teams
  in defining new features and improving existing functionality.
  
• Ensure requirements are
  aligned with business objectives and end-user expectations.
  

3. Required Skills

Must Have

• 1+ year of experience
  as a Business Analyst / Product Analyst / Functional Analyst / BI
  Analyst.
  
• Strong understanding of
  business analysis concepts and requirement gathering.
  
• Good knowledge of BRD,
  FRD, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and process documentation.
  
• Strong analytical and
  problem-solving skills.
  
• Good understanding of
  data and business reporting.
  
• Hands-on exposure to at
  least one BI / visualization tool such as:
  
• Power BI
  
• Tableau
  
• Similar BI platforms
  
• Basic to intermediate
  knowledge of Databases.
  
• Good understanding of
  databases and data structures.
  
• Strong communication
  and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Good proficiency in MS
  Excel / Google Sheets.
  
• Ability to work with
  cross-functional teams.
  

Preferred

• Exposure to AI tools
  such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, Lovable, or similar
  tools.
  
• Experience using AI for
  business analysis, documentation, data analysis, or productivity.
  
• Knowledge of APIs and
  system integrations.
  
• Good understanding of
  REST APIs and JSON.
  
• Understanding of Agile
  / Scrum methodology.
  
• Experience working with
  Gitlab or similar project management tools.
  
• Experience in
  enterprise software/product development.
  
• Basic understanding of
  UI/UX and application workflows.

5. Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer
  Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering,
  Data Analytics, or a related field.
  
• Additional
  certification in Business Analysis, BI, Data Analytics, or AI will
  be an advantage.
  

6. What We Expect From the Candidate

The candidate should be able
to independently take a requirement from:

Business
Requirement → Requirement Analysis → BRD/FRD → User Stories → Development
Clarification → QA/UAT Support → Business Validation

At the same time, the
candidate should be able to work with business data and BI tools to:

Analysis → Insight → Dashboard/Report → Business Decision

The ideal candidate is
therefore not only a documentation-focused BA, but someone who can understand
the business, analyze data, leverage AI tools, and work closely with technology
teams to deliver practical product solutions.

7. Experience

Preferred: 1–3 years

Candidates with strong
analytical skills, good BI/AI tool exposure, and excellent
requirement/documentation capabilities may be considered even if their
experience is slightly below the preferred range.
