Business Analyst – Investment Banking &
Wealth Management

The Business Analyst will act as a bridge
between business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, and product owners
to deliver data-driven solutions across investment banking and wealth
management platforms. The role requires strong domain understanding, SQL-based
data analysis, requirement gathering, process documentation, and support for
system enhancements, reporting, and regulatory or business transformation
initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·       Gather, analyze, and document
business requirements for investment banking and wealth management
applications.

·       Work closely with front office,
middle office, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams to translate
business needs into functional specifications.

·       Perform SQL queries to analyze
data, validate business rules, support reconciliations, and investigate
production or reporting issues.

·       Create BRDs, FRDs, user
stories, process flows, data mapping documents, and test scenarios.

·       Support enhancements related to
trade lifecycle, client onboarding, portfolio management, investment products,
reporting, settlements, reconciliation, and regulatory requirements.

·       Coordinate with development and
QA teams during solution design, sprint planning, testing, defect triage, and
implementation.

·       Conduct UAT planning and
execution, including test case preparation, stakeholder walkthroughs, and
sign-off coordination.

·       Identify process gaps,
recommend improvements, and support automation or digital transformation
initiatives.

·       Prepare dashboards, reports,
and presentations for stakeholders using business and data insights.

Required Skills

·       Strong business analysis
experience in banking, capital markets, investment banking, or wealth
management domains.

·       Hands-on SQL skills for data
extraction, validation, analysis, joins, aggregations, and issue investigation.

·       Good understanding of
investment products such as equities, fixed income, mutual funds, structured
products, derivatives, or portfolio services.

·       Knowledge of trade lifecycle,
client lifecycle, KYC/AML, settlements, reconciliation, risk, compliance, and
reporting processes.

·       Experience working with
Agile/Scrum teams and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint,
or similar platforms.

·       Ability to write clear business
requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and
test cases.

·       Strong analytical,
problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

·       Exposure to wealth management
platforms, advisory workflows, portfolio performance, asset allocation, or
client reporting.

·       Understanding of investment
banking processes such as deal lifecycle, trade capture, confirmations,
settlements, regulatory reporting, and risk controls.

·       Ability to work with large
datasets and collaborate with data engineering, reporting, and application
development teams.

·       Experience in stakeholder
workshops, requirement elicitation, gap analysis, impact analysis, and
post-implementation support.
