Business Systems Analyst

Job Overview
Under direct supervision, assists in providing systems support in developing and enhancing business systems to provide new or enhanced products to clients or effective planning, reporting, and analysis tools to internal functions.

Essential Functions

• Assist in defining system scope, objectives, and business needs through research, fact-finding, and analysis of business/system requirements.
• Analyze business and user needs, document requirements (user stories/functional requirements/acceptance criteria), support clarifications, and help track requirement changes/priorities as needed.
• Perform hands-on configuration within the company’s solution platform based on approved requirements and client-provided documentation/inputs, under guidance where needed.
• Participate in client and internal discussions for clarifications, walkthroughs, and solution alignment; communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
• Create and maintain Jira tickets (scope, owner, due dates, dependencies) and keep status updated regularly to drive work items to completion.
• Support testing and UAT activities: prepare test scenarios, support execution, log defects, assist triage, and capture evidence as required.
• Perform basic root cause analysis (RCA) for reported issues/defects (with guidance), document findings clearly, and coordinate fixes/changes through the tracking process.
• Support go-live and release activities for new enhancements, including readiness checks, validation, coordination with stakeholders, and post-release verification.
• Support end-to-end release execution activities (under guidance), ensuring required steps, documentation, and tracking are completed as part of the release process.
• Maintain Confluence documentation / knowledge-transfer (KT) artifacts (project notes, configuration notes, release notes, KT pages) to reduce dependency on individuals and improve cross-team continuity.
• Support basic reporting needs, including learning and creating/validating reports within the Admin Console and assisting with ad hoc status/reporting requests.
• Support transition of enhancements/features from delivery into support or specific processes where applicable.
• Proactively identify and flag risks, dependencies, and scope gaps early, and seek clarifications to reduce rework and late escalations.
• Contribute to team enablement by sharing learnings/KT with the team when ready (post ramp-up)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Life Sciences / Economics / Business Pref Or
• Master's Degree Life Sciences / Economics / Business Pref Or
• Ph.D. With commercial experience in the healthcare industry Pref
• Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals. 
• Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental processes of business, their interaction, and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making, growth and decline.
• Knowledge of consulting methods, tools and techniques, related to one’s functional area.
