PURCHASE EXECUTIVE

The incumbent will be responsible for Purchasing of Machined Components, Bearing, Gears, Shaft, PCB Assembly, Sensor Assembly, Tube, etc. from the supply base for relevant components available within India or Abroad. Also, he/she must ensure that the purchase SOP’s and operational disciplines are followed with focus on daily management. Regular interactions with planners to prioritize supplies as per situations and constraints, with appropriate escalations, if required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

• Handle purchasing of required components from domestic and international supplier base.

• Follow-up & co-ordinate for shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders & CHA.

• Place timely PO’s, forecasts with suppliers to ensure on time delivery.

• Develop supplier relationship based on mutual trust and integrity.

• Demonstrate adherence to daily management and SOP’s set for purchase function.

• Work with Quality dept., Design/Engg to resolve quality issues from suppliers.

• Work with planner to better manage stocking and usage of material.

Functional Competencies

• Should have managed purchase function through domestic & international suppliers

• Should have good working exposure on implementation of lean supply chain tools (VMI, ABC analysis, Kanban, PFEP etc.) and managing purchases for high mix – low volume business environment.

• Hands on experience of Oracle, SAP or any other ERP system

• Good analytics skills

Education and Experience Requirements

Graduate/Diploma with 6 to 8 years of experience in technical buying.
