Role Description

We are looking for an experienced C++ Engineer to join our team
You will report to the Director of Core Software, Broadband business unit
You will be based in Bengaluru, India

Location

Hybrid work with at least 3 times a week from the office in Bengaluru.

What you will be doing:

The position involves C/C++ and/or python development of next-generation cable industry leading products, services and systems for Harmonic.
Successful candidates for this position have experience in the design, development and test of Passive Optical Network (PON) Optical Line Terminal (OLT) access solutions. Candidates will learn and build on experience using advanced C++ and python technologies, containerized solutions (Docker and k8s), Embedded Systems and various networking environments developed to operate within Linux servers using cutting-edge technologies and techniques.

As part of the role, you will be involved in the following areas:

• C/C++ and/or python code development of OLT device programming, ONU management & control, and state-of-the-art system orchestration capabilities as part of our R&D team
• Investigations and debug of complex issues both from Harmonic QA and Customer Networks
• Plan, design, implement, and test within an agile development framework

What you should have: 

• B.Sc. in computer science / software engineering / electrical engineering
• 3-5 years’ experience in Software Application development of one or more of the following: IEEE (xEPON), ITU-T (xGPON) PON, G.984.4/G.988 OMCI, DPoE®/IEEE 1904.1 SIEPON or related OAM
• Practical knowledge of DPoE and/or TR-156/200
• Experience with BBF CCO and OB-BAA, ONF CORD, SEBA, and vOLT-ha - advantage
• Development within Linux Embedded environment
• C/C++ Programming. Python – advantage
• Experience in Networking, Multi-threading, OOD and Design patterns.
• DOCSIS / DPDK knowledge – advantage
• High level of interpersonal skills. Team player with ability to communicate effectively with different groups in English (written and verbal)
