Cable Laying & Splicing Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform underground and overhead fiber optic cable laying activities.
  
• Carry out fiber splicing, jointing, and termination works.
  
• Install and maintain OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) networks.
  
• Conduct cable testing using OTDR and power meter tools.
  
• Identify and rectify fiber cuts and network faults.
  
• Handle route survey and cable path inspection activities.
  
• Coordinate with field engineers and network teams for smooth project execution.
  
• Ensure proper documentation of cable routes and splicing details.
  
• Follow safety procedures during field operations and maintenance work.
  
• Attend emergency breakdowns and restoration activities.
  

Requirements

Required Skills

• Knowledge of fiber optic cable laying and splicing.
  
• Basic understanding of networking and ISP infrastructure.
  
• Ability to use OTDR, fusion splicer, and testing equipment.
  
• Troubleshooting and fault identification skills.
  
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  
• Willingness to travel and work in field operations.
