CAD Engineer II

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings of UAV components and systems.
  

• Ensure adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the product development process.
  

• Conduct feasibility studies and analyse design concepts to optimise performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  

• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during the production phase.
  

• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall quality and reliability of UAV designs.
  

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in UAV technology and CAD software to enhance design capabilities and efficiency.
  

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  

• Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to evaluate new components and materials for integration into UAV designs.
  

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies.
  

Requirements

• Pursuing or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field
  

• 5+ years of experience in CAD engineering, with a focus on drone design
  

• Candidates must have strong fundamentals in the following areas: Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures, Composite Manufacturing
  

• An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
  

• Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
  

• Software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA & NX
  

• Must have knowledge of DFM
  

• Knowledge of Matlab/Python is preferred
