The Camera Systems team creates embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets, leveraging dedicated hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to provide state-of-the-art photographs, video recordings, photo-realistic video see-through (for immersive mixed reality), as well as scene data for image understanding and object detection. \n\nResponsibilities: \n\nThe job responsibilities may include a subset of the following: \n\n * Research and development for next generation camera features and image quality improvement for Mixed-reality platforms \u0026 AI-camera/video capabilities on mobile \u0026 smart glasses \n\n\n\n * Prototype solutions on mobile/XR platforms for proof of concept and demonstration purposes \n\n * Developing and/or Optimizing image processing and computer vision algorithms for HW acceleration \n\n * Design of camera systems that balance power, memory, silicon area to maximize imaging performance \n\n\n\n\nMinimum qualifications: \n\n * Bachelors + 2yrs relevant experience, Master\u0027s + 1 yrs relevant experience or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or closely related field \n\n * Background in digital signal \u0026 image processing, image quality tuning \n\n * Background in CMOS sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing \n\n * Background in multi-camera system design including at least one of following subjects: temporal synchronization, image fusion, depth estimation, dual-camera calibration \n\n * Working knowledge with C, C++, Matlab, Python \n\n\n\n\nPreferred qualifications:\n\n * 2+ years working experience in signal/image processing and/or computer vision \n\n * Experience in XR related imaging/perception problems, and/or automotive perception is desired \n\n * Working knowledge \u0026 experience with modern machine learning techniques \n\n * Academic publications in image processing \u0026 computer vision research at top conferences and journals \n\n\n\n\nEducational requirements:\n\nRequired: Bachelor\u2019s in Computer science or Electrical \u0026 Computer Engineering \n\nPreferred: Master\u2019s or PhD in Computer science or Electrical \u0026 Computer Engineering \n\nKeywords: Image Processing, Camera, ISP, Optimization, Computer Vision, Mixed reality, Machine learning \n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\n\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
