We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Anesthetist with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in administering anesthesia and managing patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures. The ideal candidate should possess advanced expertise in anesthesia techniques, perioperative care, and critical care management, with a strong focus on ensuring patient safety and successful surgical outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside leading cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and critical care teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Anesthesia Administration & Monitoring
• Provide cardiac anesthesia for a wide range of cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplant, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
• Select and administer appropriate anesthetic agents, techniques, and dosages tailored to patient needs.
• Monitor and manage patients’ vital signs, hemodynamic status, and anesthesia depth during surgeries.
• Ensure proper use of advanced monitoring systems such as TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography), invasive arterial lines, and central venous monitoring.
• Preoperative & Postoperative Care
• Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations, assessing patient history, comorbidities, and risk factors.
• Counsel patients and families regarding anesthesia risks and procedures.
• Manage postoperative pain, ventilation, and recovery protocols in the ICU.
• Provide critical care support for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
• Emergency & Critical Care Management
• Respond to perioperative emergencies, including cardiac arrests, arrhythmias, and hemodynamic instability.
• Manage patients in the cardiac ICU requiring advanced life support, mechanical ventilation, or hemodynamic support.
• Collaborate with the surgical and critical care teams to optimize outcomes in high-risk cases.
• Collaboration & Clinical Leadership
• Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, perfusionists, and ICU staff to ensure seamless perioperative care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior anesthetists, residents, and medical staff.
• Contribute to the development of standardized anesthesia protocols for cardiac surgery.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement
• Adhere to institutional policies, medical ethics, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure accurate documentation of anesthesia procedures, medications, and patient progress.
• Stay updated with advancements in anesthesia techniques, monitoring technologies, and critical care practices.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME), research, and audits to enhance clinical outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Anesthesiology from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a focus on cardiac anesthesia.
• Strong proficiency in advanced cardiac anesthesia techniques, including use of TEE.
• Experience in handling patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in critical care settings.
• Excellent decision-making, crisis management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
