Category Manager

As a Category Manager at Dentalkart, you will be the single point of ownership for your assigned brands and product categories. You will be responsible for driving assortment, pricing, visibility, and overall category performance.

This is a high -ownership role where you will manage the category like a business unit and be accountable for revenue, margins, and growth.

? Category & P&L Ownership

• Own end -to -end category performance including revenue, margins (GPM), and growth
  
• Manage product assortment: add new SKUs and remove underperforming products
  
• Track key metrics: sales, stock availability (OOS), visibility, and conversion
  
• Ensure optimal pricing and stock availability
  

? Brand Management

• Manage relationships with brand partners and manufacturers
  
• Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and promotional budgets
  
• Plan and execute joint business strategies with brands
  

? Merchandising & Visibility

• Plan campaigns with marketing team
  
• Improve product visibility on homepage, category pages, and search
  
• Drive cross -selling and increase average order value (AOV)
  

? Analytics & Reporting

• Monitor weekly performance metrics (sales, margins, stock)
  
• Analyse demand trends and competitor data
  
• Identify slow -moving inventory and take corrective actions

? Cross -functional Collaboration

• Work with purchase/import team for inventory planning
  
• Coordinate with content team for product listings
  
• Collaborate with marketing for ads and campaigns
  

Requirements

• 2–5 years experience in category management / e -commerce / brand management
  
• Strong understanding of P&L, pricing, and margins
  
• Experience working with brands/vendors
  
• Strong analytical skills (Excel + data analysis)
  
• Good communication and negotiation skills
  
• Experience in dental / pharma / healthcare industry
  
• Familiarity with marketplaces like PharmEasy, Tata 1mg
  
• Experience in B2B or specialty retail
