Category Manager - Packaging Procurement

Job Description

Job Purpose

The person will be responsible for ensuring resin availability across convertor locations through close coordination with Material Planning, Logistics, Convertors, & Suppliers. The role drives operational efficiency & excellence in resin supply management, inventory control & monitoring, convertor level allocation monitoring, quality issue resolution. In addition, it also involves EPR credit sourcing and other packaging buying such as repacking cartons and Backward Intergation (Preform, Shrink, Stretch) relation packing material.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1)    Resin Operations & Reporting
•    Resin Supply & Demand Coordination: Work closely with Material Planning teams on 3-month resin requirements (including any plan change due to business need), allocations, supply monitoring, and supplier coordination.
•    Logistics & Last-Mile Connectivity: Partner with logistics teams to ensure timely movement of resin and resolve any bottlenecks at supplier end.
•    Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor inventory, ageing stock, inventory health
•    Quality Issue Resolution: Coordinate with Plant Quality and converter teams, and resin suppliers to resolve resin quality issues.
•    Reporting & Governance: Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering stock positions, ageing, allocations.
•    Coordinate New material trials & qualifications by working closely with Packaging Technical, Plant, Convertors and Planning teams

2.) EPR Sourcing

•    EPR Credit Sourcing: Lead end to end annual EPR credit procurement, compliance tracking, and stakeholder coordination with PACS

3.)    Other Packing Material Procurement

•    Manage procurement of repacking cartons, and support packing material for backward integration including preforms, shrink films, and stretch wraps.
•    Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Quality, Manufacturing, Sustainability, and suppliers.

Job Requirement

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Management, Supply Chain, Operations
•    MBA/Postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience

•    3-4 years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Material Planning, Logistics, Procurement, or Manufacturing Operations.
•    Experience in ERP systems (SAP preferred), good Excel skills, data analysis, reporting dashboards
•    Understanding of FMCG businesses, especially on inventory management and procurement, tracking monitoring & reporting
