Job Title – Chartered Accountant Location: Mumbai, India
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and commercially oriented Chartered Accountant to manage and strengthen financial accounting, reporting, taxation, compliance, cost control, and financial planning activities. The role will work closely with business and operational teams to provide accurate financial insights, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making.
Experience in an industrial machinery, engineering, manufacturing, EPC, or project-based environment is highly preferred, given the company's focus on robotic coating solutions, specialized equipment, engineering, manufacturing, and global project operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, MIS, and financial analysis.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Manage direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory requirements.
Ensure timely filing of tax returns, regulatory submissions, and statutory documentation.
Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Monitor changes in accounting and taxation regulations and assess their impact on the business.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Analyze actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
Prepare variance analysis and identify key financial and operational cost drivers.
Provide management with actionable insights to support business decisions.
Costing & Project Finance
Monitor project costs, profitability, margins, and financial performance.
Develop and maintain project costing and cost-control mechanisms.
Analyze material, labour, subcontracting, logistics, and overhead costs.
Support project teams in identifying cost overruns and opportunities for improved profitability.
Assist with financial evaluation of new projects, contracts, and business opportunities.
Working Capital & Cash Flow Management
Monitor receivables, payables, inventory, and overall working capital.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and monitor liquidity requirements.
Strengthen credit control and ensure timely customer collections.
Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to optimize payment cycles and working capital.
Audit & Internal Controls
Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and other financial audits.
Ensure complete and accurate audit documentation and timely closure of audit observations.
Strengthen internal financial controls and identify potential control weaknesses.
Develop and implement appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
ERP & Process Improvement
Ensure effective utilization of ERP and accounting systems across finance processes.
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting and reporting activities.
Improve financial data accuracy, reporting timelines, and reconciliation processes.
Support system upgrades, finance process improvements, and digitalization initiatives.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with senior management, operations, procurement, sales, HR, and project teams.
Provide financial guidance on commercial decisions and operational initiatives.
Evaluate business proposals, contracts, investments, and major expenditures from a financial perspective.
Present financial performance, risks, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI is mandatory.
5–10 years of post-qualification experience in finance and accounting.
Experience in engineering, industrial machinery, manufacturing, EPC, industrial services, or project-based businesses is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, taxation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
Experience managing project costing, budgeting, cash flow, and management reporting.
Strong ERP experience; SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems preferred.
