Job Description - Chief Engineer - Low Voltage and Power Conversion (LVPC)
The incumbent will assume the role of Chief Engineer for global Low Voltage and Power Conversion (LVPC) engineering business group within eMobility business, responsible for providing the technical leadership and subject matter expertise (SME) to the technology and product portfolio of LVPC business such as HV & LV DC-DC, Auxiliary Inverter, LV Power Distribution & Circuit Protection, Vehicle Control, Wireless & embedded electronics. The incumbent is responsible for driving the culture of providing system level solutions for LVPC product portfolio. Developing LVPC business group level technology roadmaps and strategy in alignment to product road maps, propose & lead new technology introduction (NTI) programs working closely with other technology SMEs of the business. Our eMobility Low Voltage & Power Conversion business is looking for Chief Engineer, who will lead LVPC business growth programs & drive technology leadership in LVPC engineering function. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune, India. Proven track record in engineering / R&D domain, demonstrated accountability & ownership in growing the portfolio, demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals Keep up to date on technology advancements that related to Low Voltage and Power Conversion product portfolio through competitive benchmarking & technology landscaping, standards/ compliance pertaining to the region Lead high complexity business critical New Product Development programs as Technical Project Leader and ensure flawless launch through PROLaunch process Collaborate with business unit leaders & technology subject matter expertise to identify the technology gaps in executing the LVPC product roadmaps and plan the technology roadmap development and execution to close those gaps Develop a solid understanding of existing plant level challenges of products LVPC product lines that leads to mfg. improvements as a part of current product engineering. Collaboration with application and mfg. support engineers located globally & front face to engage customers on pursuits to define long term strategic objectives and establish / drive action plans to achieve the same Mentor technically set of team members, especially the subject matter experts in each of the LVPC businesses Attract, develop and retain organizational and technical leadership talents, Coach and motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals and review their accomplishments Drive the culture of boundaryless teamwork and leadership by influence especially in ambiguous situations while decision making and dealing with customers Drive & champion the culture of Digital Design, Design for Six Sigma and Stage Gate Product Development Process 1. Leading the multidisciplinary functional engineering team of a high complexity program categorized as stranger or alien risk classifications to execute and achieve the technical product delivery targets according to the project schedule within the required development & product cost targets. Graduate degree in Electrical /Electronics engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics & with proven track record in providing leadership in multi-disciplinary areas of Vehicle market. Experience in Vehicle electrical domain will be preferred 15+ years of industry experience in multinational organization with demonstrated ability to influence global and cross functional organization while working with OEM customers Experience working in North America or Europe for 1 or 2 years preferred In depth understanding of Market and Regulatory trends in Vehicle domain Expertise in handling New Product & Technology Development leveraging stage gate approach Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement cost effective solutions Experience developing technology roadmap and execution while working with cross functional team In depth understanding and hands-on experience of working on relevant software tools and methods Values differences - Appreciates the values of different perspectives and culture Business Insights - Applies market and competition knowledge to advance organizational goals Strategic Agility - sees ahead clearly; can create competitive and breakthrough strategies & plans Drive for results - can be counted on to exceed goals successfully Decision quality - makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment Demonstrated experience in managing & developing new processes, systems and tool Skilled at conflict management, dealing with ambiguity and change management Communicates effectively - develops and delivers multi-mode communication to diverse stakeholders
