The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing the overall financial strategy, financial operations, treasury management, fundraising, taxation, compliance, and financial risk management of the organization.
The CFO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, investors, and department heads to ensure financial stability, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in real estate finance, project funding, budgeting, taxation, investor relations, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
—Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.
—Advise senior management and the Board on financial planning, investments, profitability, and growth strategies.
—Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
—Drive financial sustainability and operational efficiency across all business functions.
—Analyze market trends, investment opportunities, and business risks.
2. Real Estate Project Finance & Fund Management
—Manage project financing, construction funding, and capital structuring for residential and commercial developments.
—Monitor project-wise budgeting, costing, profitability, and cash flow management.
—Evaluate land acquisition proposals, project feasibility, and return on investment (ROI).
—Coordinate with banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions for project loans and working capital requirements.
—Optimize fund utilization and financial resource allocation.
3. Financial Operations & Reporting
—Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal financial controls.
—Ensure accurate preparation and review of:
—Financial Statements
—Balance Sheets
—Cash Flow Statements
—MIS Reports
—Budget Variance Reports
—Profitability Analysis
—Implement robust financial systems, SOPs, and reporting mechanisms.
—Ensure transparency and accountability in financial operations.
4. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
—Ensure compliance with:
—GST
—TDS
—Income Tax
—Companies Act
—RERA Financial Compliance
—ROC Filings
—Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
—Coordinate with auditors, consultants, legal advisors, and government authorities.
—Monitor changes in taxation and financial regulations impacting the business.
5. Treasury & Risk Management
—Develop treasury strategies for liquidity management and working capital optimization.
—Monitor financial risks, debt obligations, and cash flow requirements.
—Implement risk mitigation strategies related to investments, funding, and operations.
—Ensure proper financial governance and fraud prevention mechanisms.
6. Investor Relations & Business Expansion
—Build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
—Lead fundraising activities, investment proposals, and financial negotiations.
—Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
—Prepare investor presentations and financial performance reports.
7. Leadership & Team Management
—Lead and mentor finance, accounts, taxation, audit, and treasury teams.
—Develop a performance-driven and process-oriented finance culture.
—Support ERP implementation, financial automation, and process improvement initiatives.
—Ensure coordination between finance and other operational departments.Core Competencies
Requirements
—Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory; MBA Finance preferred.
—Additional qualifications such as CFA/CMA will be an advantage.
—12–18+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in real estate, infrastructure, or construction industries.
—Strong expertise in project financing, taxation, budgeting, and financial strategy.
—Experience in handling large-scale real estate projects and financial operations.
