Job Purpose:

The Chief Project Officer (CPO) is responsible for the overall direction, execution, and financial success of the organization’s projects. The CPO drives business strategy, ensures operational excellence in project management, fosters organizational growth, and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring the business thrives in a competitive environment.

1. Business Strategy and Leadership:

• Lead the organization’s financial strategy by ensuring profitability and sustainable growth through effective revenue optimization, cost reduction, and maximization of return on investment.


• Collaborate with the business development team to drive growth by leveraging strong client relationships and ensuring that project execution aligns with business expansion objectives.


• Take full ownership of the business’s financial performance, aligning projects with long-term strategic goals to ensure sustained profitability.

2. Project Management and Operational Excellence:

• Oversee project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.


• Proactively identify project challenges and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.


• Establish and maintain risk mitigation strategies, implementing controls to effectively manage potential threats to project success.


• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and industry standards, implementing governance practices that safeguard the organization’s ethical standards and integrity.

3. Team Management and Development:

• Develop and implement strategies that build a strong, agile organization capable of delivering on business targets.


• Focus on leadership development, talent retention, and succession planning to foster a strong internal talent pipeline.


• Cultivate a performance-driven culture, ensuring accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence across all teams.


• Promote an engaged and empowered workforce by providing necessary resources, recognizing contributions, and fostering open communication across all organizational levels.

4. Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management:

• Serve as the primary liaison with clients, ensuring their needs are met, and that projects exceed expectations to foster long-term client relationships.


• Strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry partners, representing the company in various forums.


• Advocate for favorable policies and regulations to support business development and industry growth while positioning the company as a key player in the market.
