Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university. Engineering Work experience of more than 12 years (overall) including min. 8 years in all facets of Civil Engineering Design of Oil & Gas / petrochemical facility development.
1. Complete the work as a Civil lead engineer of Plant Units and offsites with concrete Foundations of Piperack, equipment supporting structure, shelter, platform, miscellaneous support & UG facilities for oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects, including above ground structures and dynamic equipment foundations.
2. Asst Lead Engineer capability (Deputy to Civil LE) where required
Engineering Checker capability for large Oil & Gas / petrochemical facilities especially for Structural and Foundation concrete design (above-ground & underground concrete structures) & miscellaneous foundations including static, dynamic & package equipment foundations [UG design checker capability will be added advantage]
3. Review of Inputs including Structural Load Data & Eqpt Data
4. Prepare design specification, standard drawing, work instructions and procedures.
5. Civil Concrete design as per relevant international codes and/or project specifications/guidelines
6. Control design status and schedule for Underground design activities
7. Control cost (manhour and BQ) for Underground design activities
8. Check engineering subcontractor’s products (3D model, MTO data, design drawing, calculation notes and foundation loading data etc.)
9. Review vendor’s drawing and other disciplines’ drawing
10. Review 3D model and coordinate for foundation design with other disciplines and engineering subcontractors to avoid clash.
11. PJ coordination in terms of Civil and UG engineering with client, other disciplines, piping and structural layout engineers, construction team, engineering subcontractors etc...
12. Coordination for design changes with other disciplines, engineering subcontractor to minimize impact.
13. Communication and coordination with construction subcontractors and engineering subcontractors
14. Raising Change orders to client, material requisitions to procurement and supporting procurement schedule
15. Working as Field Engineer for short tenures as required
16. Working at other Operating Centres of the company in above roles for a tenure
Requirements
• Understanding of Plant engineering for Oil & Gas, Plant concrete structure design & foundation design of steel structures & equipment
• Knowledge of international code and standards applicable to Civil and Concrete design
• Knowledge of one or more the following design software packages
STAAD Pro
Mat 3D and Foundation 3D
SAP 2000 & Dyna N
SAFE
• Willing to adapt to the organisation’s method of work delivery
• Knowledge of standard international styles of business communication and experience in the preparation of business and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of plant facilities (Piping, Electrical, Instrument, Equipment etc.) in oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects.
• Basic knowledge of 3D modelling philosophy
• Navisworks operation skills.
• MS office & Excel operation skills.
• Mentoring and training of junior engineers within the department.
• Direct supervision and checking of the work by junior staff
• Flexibility of working in project team as originator or supervisor as required – especially in early stages of project
• Note: Knowledge of Structural Design, Building Design, Marine Structure design, Pipeline design & UG drainage design will be considered as additional skill
