• Lead the BSM Drydock Desk
  in close cooperation with Supply Chain Management. Develop strategies to
  increase visibility and co-operation with the shipyards and repair facilities
  
• Collaborate with SMC
  Fleet Managers and Technical Superintendents to review shipyard quotations and
  provide expert input
  
• Evaluate the docking
  budget with respect to the repair specifications, vessels requirements, trading
  pattern and proposed docking location to ensure alignment to gain a competitive
  edge to the docking process.
  
• Monitor the docking status of ships under full management and
  collaborate with the fleet teams and tenders for projects as BSM Drydock desk.
  
• Collaborate with SMC
  Fleet Managers and Technical Superintendents to evaluate vessel and owners
  requirements and select a suitable location and ship yard after comparing
  various quotations.
  
• Review standard shipyard
  pricelists and assist in negotiations by BSM Drydock Desk or Supply Chain Management
  
• Implement cost saving
  measures and strategies for dry docking  within BSM fleet
  
• Prepare and present
  regular progress reports to senior management
  
• Evaluate the docking budget
  with respect to the repair specifications, vessels requirements, trading
  pattern and proposed docking location to ensure alignment to gain a competitive
  edge to the docking process. Engage in communication with owners to ensure full
  alignment between SMC and owners regarding docking budget.
  
• Monitor available project financial information. Ensure fleet
  teams updates information in PAL Drydock, including Project budget and Project
  actuals
  
• Analyze quotation
  received to identify trends and areas for improvement and inform fleet teams
  accordingly.
  
• Assist Fleet teams in
  review of the final invoices and conduct cost analysis of the project. Assist
  with final invoice negotiations, participate in overbudget invoice negotiation
  and dispute resolution; remotely or in person
  
• Monitor the
  commercial performance of repair yards and contractors performing the dockings
  in order to generate statistics to assist with future yard/contractor
  selection. This information may also be used to assist with SCM negotiations
  with repair yards and assess support requirements from SMC.
  
• Act as a single point
  of contact for shipyards and repair facilities. Develop strategies for close cooperation
  with shipyards and repair facilities.
  
• Closely cooperate
  with the Supply Chain Management and build the link between the BSM Drydock
  Desk
  
• Act as a Drydock
  agent/broker between the shipyard and the BSM.

Requirements

Education
and Qualifications:

▪         B.S. degree in Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Naval
Architecture or equivalent

▪         Shipyard commercial Division/Estimation experience

▪         Must be a highly organized person who can monitor
numerous projects at once and can prioritize the workloads of reporting employees.
Effective time management skills are a must.

Work
Experience:

▪         5 years’ Experience in Shipyard commercial / Marine
Estimation division

▪         At least 2 years sailing experience in Senior
estimator.

▪         Experience in various shipyards
globally estimating the jobs of different types and sizes of ships both wet and
dry

Job-Specific
Skills:

▪         Expert knowledge of the entire docking process .

▪         Review itemized listing of required work tasks based
on review of bid request.

▪         Excellent negotiation and communication skills with
domestic and international clientele. Excellent project management and team
management skills

▪         Ability to develop detailed specifications and
estimates for marine projects.

▪         Understanding of marine classification society rules

▪         Fluency in English

▪         PC literacy
