Commodity Manager - Raw material- Steel

Executing  long term strategy for a commodity and analyzing the market for the commodity

KEY STAKEHOLDERS
Internal: 
Engg (GPO), Product Mgmt Team, Target Costing Team, Finance, Marketing, Supplier Quality

External: 
Suppliers

Your responsibilities will include:

  Good Knowledge about Raw Materials specially Steel, Al, cu etc

  
  


• 
  

  Creating Relationship management among Cross functional teams as well as Suppliers. (Engg/ Marketing/ Suppliers/Procurement Global Team)

  
  


• 
  

  Responsible for developing strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporate and factory levels and to execute sourcing strategies for commodities to drive value and significantly impact bottom-line profitability. This role also partners with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, and Technical leaders to identify supply chain opportunities in these commodity areas.

  Devise and employ fruitful sourcing strategies to discover the most profitable suppliers and initiate business partnership

  
  


• 
  

  Negotiate with external suppliers to secure the most advantageous terms and track key functional metrics to improve effectiveness of suppliers and accountable for supplier agreements

  
  


• 
  

  To be good in Data Information management, Financial reporting support from procurement perspective.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage Total Cost Of Ownership (BOM, Overall Cost Structure, Quality & logistics)

  
  


• 
  

  Develop detailed strategic approach to managing Motor, Glass, Heater & Gearbox as a commodity  to set future targets across  standards, cost, performance , warranty and Lead time

  
  


• 
  

  To be accountable for Purchase order, SAP usage, Schedule Management, Supplier Insurance for daily production.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements

  
  


• 
  

  Analyzing and deciphering change / improvement opportunities  to root cause and corrective actions

  
  


• 
  

  Monitoring , communicating and  Driving progress on projects supporting tooling and molding improvements. Should be Good in Excel & Good Sheet.

  
  

Minimum requirements:

Education: B.Tech

Experience required: 9-13yrs of experience 

Preferred skills and experiences:

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
Hands-on Excel / SAP/ PPT

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to follow agreed business processes and procedures


• Expert analytic and systematic and Presentation skills


• Good Interpersonal skills
