Computer Teacher - SRF Vidyalaya

Position: Computer Teacher (for grades 1 to 8)

Location: SRF Vidyalaya, Gurugram

SRF Foundation firmly believes in the transformative power of education to create a positive impact on society. SRF Foundation, with the contribution of SRF Ltd., established SRF Vidyalaya in Gurugram, Haryana, in 2020. 

SRF Vidyalaya believes that good quality education is an instrument that lights up the path of the learner and brings a positive change on a personal and community level. The aim of the school is to provide value-based quality education to children belonging to the underprivileged and/or lower income groups and to reduce the burden of expensive school fees on the parents. 

With a nominal fee structure, the school follows a ‘low-cost, high-quality’ model with contribution from SRF Ltd and other like-minded organizations. The curriculum is designed, supported, and aligned to the experiences and expertise of the The Shri Ram Schools thereby following a child-centered curriculum.

Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum:

• Deliver the computer curriculum as per school and board guidelines (CBSE/State Board).
• Teach fundamentals of computing including:
• Basics of computer hardware and software
• Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
• Internet safety and responsible use
• Introductory coding (Scratch, Blockly, HTML, etc.)
• Logical thinking and digital citizenship
• Plan age-appropriate and engaging lessons for each grade.
• Use teaching aids, multimedia tools, and practical sessions to support learning.

Computer Lab Management:

• Ensure all systems are functioning and maintained.
• Monitor the proper use of hardware and software in the lab.
• Coordinate with IT support/vendor for troubleshooting and technical issues.
• Maintain lab records, student usage logs, and inventory of equipment.

Student Assessment

• Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain records of student progress.
• Encourage individual and group projects to foster creativity and collaboration.

Administrative and Reporting Tasks

• Maintain lesson plans, class records, and performance reports.
• Submit monthly activity reports to the coordinator/principal.
• Assist in updating school MIS and support in digital tasks such as preparing presentations, reports, or event documentation.

Collaboration & Support

• Support fellow teachers in using digital tools and EdTech in the classroom.
• Conduct sessions for teachers on basic digital tools (if required).
• Provide technical assistance during school events (e.g., Annual Day, exhibitions).

Student Guidance

• Guide students in IT-related competitions and exhibitions.
• Motivate and mentor students interested in computer science.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications (BCA), Computer Science, or related field (B.Ed. preferred).
• Prior experience in teaching computer science at the primary or middle school level is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle classroom management and adapt to different learning styles.
• Familiarity with basic programming tools, MS Office, Google Suite, and EdTech platforms.
• Patience, resilience, and dedication to students and education.
• Understanding the unique needs of EWS students.
