The impact you’ll make

Manages the design, planning, construction and deliver advances technology lab and manufacturing space for product expansion. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Oversee the successful construction completion on projects in $10M and above to ensure budget and schedule adherence. Create innovation and value engineered solutions for construction challenges.

As a facilities engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you’ll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installation and production equipment layouts. You’ll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherences with established specification schedules. Your focus on performance specifications are required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam’s state of the Art Facilities.

What you’ll do

• Lead a team in the planning, execution and delivery of the small to medium scale strategic and sustainable projects surrounding technical lab constructions. This role requires expertise in managing complex infrastructure and felicities projects, ensuring project performance to corporate standards, regulatory compliances and stakeholders expectations.


• Drive all aspects of constructions projects: Scope, schedule, spend forecast, proposal request,, procurement, quality, communication, permits, changes order and close out of all advances technology manufacturing projects. Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.


• Select and evaluate contractor in developing design and performance criteria, layouts and schematic drawings, including safety oversight and environmental design specifications. Ensure best cost and performance. Control change orders, schedules, budget and project handover. Work with procurement and legal teams to maximize value and minimize the risk.


• Review design and construction costs surrounding all equipment, installation and materials. Track and report on projects budgets.


• Build and execute against programming and construction documents to ensure successful delivery of Lam business requirements, economy of operations , equipment efficiencies and regulatory compliances. Validate weekly site progress and lead meetings to monitor conformance to established drawings, specifications and schedules. Help resolve on site issues and ensure timely decision making.


• Collaborate and communicate status with colleagues and management based in Lam Global. Coordinate with global GWS functional SME’s and deliver projects as per Lam’s expectations.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/civil/industrial/chemical engineering required with 11+ Years of total experience in construction management.


• Construction project management experience in small and medium projects and lab spaces with highly technical MEP designs and safety requirements.


• Understand all aspects and phase of the construction management process.


• Experiences in high tech fast-paced environment; focused on customer services. Can remain calm and professional under pressure.


• Ability to read and interpret the construction drawings.


• Experience in project cost controls and ability to present monthly status reports and revised capital forecasts to upper management.


• Understanding of legal concepts and commercial terms and conditions of traditional construction contracting instruments.


• Strong knowledge of Indian construction regulations, government agency approvals and environmental compliances,


• Represents culture of ethics and safety.


• Values transparency and internal and cross-functional teamwork to solve problems.


• Ability to travel to other Lam locations based on need.

Preferred qualifications

• Provide leadership, mentoring and development of a high-performance engineering team.


• Working knowledge of SAP for use with purchase requisitions and orders.


• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint capabilities


• Strong presentation skills – demonstrates presentation ability, influence, and effectiveness on complex content in front of peers.


• Awareness of EHS and regulatory knowledge to help make business decisions.


• Ability to respond to and resolve complex challenges under pressure.


• Exceptional root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills.


• Stakeholder management, within various global organizations of the company.


• Exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.


• External vendor management.


• Will be required to travel to other Lam locations based on need.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
