About the Role:

We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant – Medical Oncologist to join our team at a reputed multi-specialty/super-specialty hospital. The selected candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, staging, and managing cancer patients with a multidisciplinary approach. You will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized care using state-of-the-art treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and palliative care.

As a Consultant in Medical Oncology, you are expected to provide evidence-based, compassionate, and comprehensive cancer care while coordinating with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and allied healthcare professionals. The role also involves patient education, continuous evaluation of treatment outcomes, and contribution to research and clinical advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment:
    Accurately diagnose and stage various types of cancers using clinical assessments, imaging, pathology, and lab results. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Oncological Management:
    Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted therapy as per globally accepted protocols. Modify treatment based on patient response and tolerance.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
    Work in coordination with a multidisciplinary team including radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and palliative care teams to deliver holistic cancer care.
  • Patient Monitoring and Follow-up:
    Monitor patients during treatment, manage side effects, and conduct regular follow-ups to assess disease progression or remission.
  • Patient Education and Counseling:
    Provide detailed counseling to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and outcomes. Ensure psychological support and compassionate communication.
  • Clinical Documentation:
    Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient history, treatment plans, therapy administration, and outcomes in line with hospital records and regulatory standards.
  • Research and Development:
    Participate in clinical research, case studies, and academic discussions. Stay updated with recent advancements in oncology to adopt modern and evidence-based practices.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards during diagnosis and treatment procedures.
  • Teaching and Training:
    Mentor junior doctors, fellows, and medical students by sharing clinical knowledge and facilitating hands-on training where applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    DM / DNB in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in a reputed cancer center or tertiary care hospital. (Freshers with strong training may also apply.)
  • Key Skills:
    • Clinical expertise in systemic cancer therapy
    • Proficiency in evaluating diagnostic reports
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
    • Excellent patient communication and counseling skills
    • Research-oriented mindset and familiarity with current oncology protocols
