Content Writer (Web)

About this role:

We at Scool are looking for content/copywriters who can write geeky, nerdy, and insightful stories for our content brand- scool.buzz

The number one qualification to be a writer and work with us is to be a nerd as we believe either you are a nerd or you are not; and although we would still love you if you are not, we wouldn’t want you be working with us as a writer.

If you are updated with trends and topics which Gen Z can spend hours geeking out about if you are tech-savvy if you can differentiate between a black hole and an A-hole, if you prefer Elon Musk over Kanye West, if ‘the interpretation of dreams’ is greater than ‘the interpretation of memes’ for you, if you are a staunch supporter of ‘theory of evolution’ and ‘BLM revolution’, and if you know ‘climate change is REAL’ then you are one step closer to working with us than you would think.

What are you expected to do at Scool?

• Create and write content for Gen Z geeks
• Identify and Pitch stories and ideas that would click with our TG
• Write highly shareable content following brand guidelines and Scool’s content mantra
• Optimize content using SEO best practices
• Analyze your content’s performance using analytics tools
• Have an ability to self-edit — we will offer light editorial guidance but expect posts to require very light editing.
• Be a sucker for facts and trivia
• Visualize data and design for stories to guide the designers and make the web content a visual experience for the readers
• Read a lot
• Make reading fun for others

Are you loaded with these?

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience of working on content for web and social media or
• Writing, copy editing, and proofreading experience. Familiarity with long-form and short-form content
• Excellent command over the English language
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Well-versed with the content management system
• Basic know-how of google analytics and SEO
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms
• Love for multitasking
