Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead end-to-end contracts and procurement functions across multiple residential, commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects.
  • Drive procurement transformation initiatives, digital procurement adoption, and process standardization.
  • Establish procurement governance frameworks, policies, SOPs, and compliance mechanisms.

Contracts Management

  • Lead pre-contract and post-contract management activities.
  • Review, negotiate, and finalize EPC, construction, consultancy, service, and supply contracts.
  • Ensure contractual risk mitigation and adherence to commercial terms.
  • Oversee claims management, dispute resolution, extension of time (EOT), variation orders, and contract closures.

Procurement Governance

  • Implement procurement governance standards and approval matrices.
  • Ensure transparent bidding processes and compliance with internal policies.
  • Conduct procurement audits and monitor adherence to procurement controls.
  • Drive ethical sourcing practices and vendor compliance programs.

Commercial Excellence

  • Develop commercial strategies to achieve cost optimization and business profitability.
  • Lead cost benchmarking, market intelligence, and sourcing analytics initiatives.
  • Drive value engineering and alternative sourcing opportunities.
  • Monitor procurement savings and commercial performance metrics.

Materials Management

  • Establish robust inventory management and materials planning systems.
  • Ensure timely availability of project materials while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and material reconciliation.
  • Drive material cost control and reduction of wastage across projects.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships and vendor development programs.
  • Lead vendor evaluation, performance assessment, and contract compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure procurement supports project schedules.
  • Engage with senior leadership on procurement planning and commercial risks.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing contracts and procurement team.
  • Mentor and develop procurement, contracts, and commercial professionals.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, governance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
  • MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or Finance preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as CIPS, PMP, FIDIC, CCM, or Contract Management certifications will be an advantage.

Experience

  • 15–25+ years of experience in Contracts, Commercial, Procurement, Materials Management, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership role heading procurement/commercial functions.
  • Experience in Real Estate, Construction, Infrastructure Development, EPC, or large project-based organizations.
  • Proven experience handling procurement spend of significant scale and managing strategic sourcing initiatives.
