Description As the Credit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the credit strategy and operations of the Vishwas-Credit department. Your primary focus will be to ensure the department's credit policies and procedures are aligned with the bank's overall objectives and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of credit analysts and underwriters, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement credit policies and procedures that align with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.
Oversee the credit analysis and underwriting process, ensuring accurate and timely assessments of credit applications.
Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts, providing guidance and support to enhance their decision-making skills.
Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management and legal, to ensure a holistic approach to credit management.
Monitor and analyze credit portfolio performance, identifying trends and potential risks, and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, business partners, and regulatory bodies.
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the department's credit practices remain current and compliant.
Conduct regular reviews of credit policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies related to credit management.
Provide periodic reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key credit-related metrics and performance indicators.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required, with a preference for a master's degree in finance or credit management.
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in credit management, with a proven track record of leading and managing credit departments.
Strong knowledge of credit analysis, underwriting, and risk assessment techniques, with the ability to make sound credit decisions.
Excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
Proficiency in using credit analysis tools and software, as well as strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
A results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving business growth and maintaining high credit standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
A self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing credit-related challenges.
