Customer Quality (Automotive) - Staff Engineer

## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm India Private Limited\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e Quality Assurance Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\nJob Overview\n\n\\- This is a technical customer facing role within the Quality Organization supporting Automotive customers based in Asia region (mainly India) to provide leading edge automotive applications using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon, Modem and 5G technology.\n\n\\- Focus on in region Automotive customers and manage customer quality issue resolution for Qualcomm products from customer development, mass production to field returns.\n\n\\- Work with Automotive customers and internal engineering teams to address quality issues and customer returns.\n\n\\- Update customers in a timely fashion regarding the status of quality issues or any requests.\n\n\\- Work closely with Customer Engineering / Applications teams to understand new product introduction status and feedback issues to Qualcomm quality organization.\n\n\\- Work with Automotive customers and Qualcomm internal teams to support customer APQP, required to bring up new products (Including documentation, risk assessment etc.).\n\n\\- Build strong relationships with customers. Be prepared to advocate for Customers to Qualcomm internal teams and likewise protect Qualcomm interests when facing customers.\n\n\\- Cooperate with global Qualcomm teams to handle quality issues following up and worldwide CQE strategy implementation.\n\n\\- Work with local Sales/ Customer Service/ Engineering team closely to drive approval and adoption of Qualcomm PCNs.\n\n\\- Survey key customers frequently for quality KPIs including business reviews.\n\n\\- Bring customer intelligence into Qualcomm such as new regional requirements, standards, risks, and opportunities.\n\n\\- Support offshore facilities of worldwide customers.\n\nQualifications\n\n\\- Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in physics, Electronics, or related disciplines.\n\n\\- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the Automotive industry in a customer-facing role.\n\n\\- Understanding of semiconductor processes including wafer fabrication, assembly, and test.\n\n\\- Hands on experience of using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscope, curve trace, CSAM.\n\n\\- Understanding of Electrically induced Physical Damage (EIPD)\n\n\\- Understanding and application of 8D Methodology and related tools.\n\nDesirable technical experience:\n\n\\- Understanding of India Automotive OEM/ Tier-1 quality support expectations\n\n\\- Understanding of PPAP / APQP / IATF 16949\n\n\\- Knowledge and experience of quality tools and reliability.\n\n\\- Knowledge of CMOS Manufacturing, construction, and deconstruction.\n\n\\- Knowledge of IC assembly methods / processes.\n\n\\- Familiarity with Digital \u0026 Mixed signal test systems and methods.\n\n\\- Strong interpersonal communication skill with customer and internal team, must be persistent and determined, can manage difficult conversations.\n\n\\- Confident and flexible Self-starter\u2013 desire to do what is needed to address a customer issue.\n\n\\- Excellent team working for problem solving.\n\n\\- Proficiency in verbal and written English.\n\n\\- Available for domestic and international travel.\n\n\\- Honesty and Integrity.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s Degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
