Job Description - Customer Success Forward Deployed Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Min Experience: 6 years

Location: Bengaluru

JobType: full-time

We are looking for a Customer Success Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to help help organizations operationalize trustworthy, production-grade AI systems. This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where you will deploy, customize, and optimize advanced AI observability and agentic AI solutions in real-world enterprise environments.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you act as both a deep technical builder and a strategic partner, translating customer objectives into scalable, secure, and transparent AI systems that deliver measurable business outcomes.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of AI innovation, system architecture, and customer impact.

What You’ll Do

End-to-End AI Solution Delivery

  • Lead deployments from concept through production, writing critical code and owning integrations, pipelines, and system debugging.
  • Deliver production-ready AI and ML systems that drive tangible customer outcomes.

Custom AI & Agentic System Engineering

  • Design, build, and deploy bespoke intelligent agents and AI observability architectures aligned to customer data ecosystems and business goals.
  • Leverage frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG pipelines, and modern orchestration tools.

Data & Integration Architecture

  • Own the full data lifecycle, including modeling, transformation, and secure high-throughput pipelines.
  • Work with technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, and object storage (e.g., S3) to ensure scalable, explainable AI systems.

Rapid Prototyping & Iteration

  • Partner closely with customer teams to deliver proofs-of-concept and MVPs that demonstrate value quickly.
  • Iterate rapidly based on feedback while maintaining production-grade quality.

Customer Technical Leadership

  • Embed with customer engineering and data science teams to understand constraints, goals, and architectures.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable technical designs and influence internal product and engineering roadmaps.

AI Observability & Responsible AI Enablement

  • Guide customers on best practices for AI monitoring, drift detection, explainability, compliance, and governance.
  • Enable responsible AI deployment at enterprise scale.

Mentorship & Enablement

  • Mentor customer engineers and internal peers.
  • Set high standards for engineering excellence, scalability, and operational AI maturity.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade AI/ML or data-driven systems.
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Expert-level programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or Java, with a focus on scalable systems.
  • Hands-on experience integrating or orchestrating LLMs / Generative AI (LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business impact.
  • Proven success in customer-facing engineering roles, balancing technical depth with empathy and pragmatism.
  • Ownership mindset with comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Hybrid role based in Bengaluru (2 days in-office).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer engagements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI observability or model monitoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, Argo).
  • Experience building or deploying agentic or conversational AI in enterprise settings.
  • Open-source contributions to AI, data, or ML tooling.
  • Knowledge of model explainability, bias detection, and responsible AI practices.
