Job Description – Senior Data Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Data Quality Analyst to join our Enterprise Data team. This role is
responsible for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of
business-critical data across multiple enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate is someone who
enjoys investigating complex data issues, performing deep data analysis using
SQL, identifying the root causes of inconsistencies, and collaborating with
both business and technical teams to ensure enterprise data remains accurate
and reliable.

This is a highly analytical role
that requires strong SQL expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the
ability to understand how data flows between multiple enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Investigation

• Perform detailed analysis of
  business data across multiple enterprise systems, vendor data sources, and
  operational databases.
  
• Compare records across systems to
  identify inconsistencies, missing records, duplicate records, incorrect
  mappings, and synchronization failures.
  
• Investigate discrepancies related
  to customer information, product information, shipment dates, invoice
  dates, warranty dates, pricing, serial numbers, and other
  business-critical data elements.
  
• Understand relationships between
  different enterprise applications and identify where incorrect data
  originates.
  

SQL-Based Data Analysis

• Write complex SQL queries to
  analyze large datasets and compare information between multiple databases.
  
• Perform data reconciliation
  between various systems of record.
  
• Build reusable SQL scripts for
  data validation and reconciliation.
  
• Analyze historical data trends to
  identify recurring data quality issues.
  
• Validate database changes after
  updates, scripts, or production deployments.
  
• Work with large transactional
  datasets while ensuring query efficiency and performance.
  

Data Quality & Root Cause
Analysis

• Investigate
  data anomalies reported by Sales Operations, Business Teams, Customer
  Support, and other stakeholders.
  
• Perform root
  cause analysis to determine whether issues originate from:
  
• Source
  systems
  
• Integration
  failures
  
• ETL
  processes
  
• Vendor
  data
  
• User
  input
  
• Database
  scripts
  
• Business
  process gaps
  

• Document
  findings and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Ensure that
  data quality issues are permanently resolved rather than repeatedly
  corrected.
  

Vendor Data Validation

• Analyze vendor-provided files and
  compare them with enterprise application data.
  
• Verify that integrations correctly
  update the BOM application.
  
• Identify records that fail
  validation during imports.
  
• Work with integration teams to
  resolve mapping and transformation issues.
  
• Validate incoming files before and
  after processing.
  
  

Data Reconciliation

• Ensure all enterprise systems
  maintain consistent and synchronized information.
  
• Produce reconciliation reports
  highlighting mismatches and recommended actions.
  

Quality Assurance

• Execute data validation before
  production deployments.
  
• Validate data after SQL scripts
  are executed.
  
• Verify production fixes.
  
• Ensure business users receive
  accurate data after updates.
  
• Support
  regression validation for data-related changes.

• Gather business context behind

Documentation & Reporting

• Document investigation
  results and root cause findings.
  
• Maintain reconciliation
  reports.
  
• Prepare validation reports
  after database updates.
  
• Document recurring issues and
  recommend long-term improvements.
  
• Maintain data quality metrics
  and trend analysis.
  

Requirements

Preferred Experience

• 5–6+ years of experience in Data
  Analysis or Data Quality.
  
• Strong experience with SQL
  Server or other enterprise relational databases.
  
• Experience working with CRM,
  ERP, EDW, or enterprise operational systems.
  
• Experience supporting Sales
  Operations or Order Management functions.
  
• Familiarity with ETL and
  enterprise data integration processes.
  
• Exposure to Power BI for
  validating and consuming data is an advantage, though this is not a
  dashboard development role.
