Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Market Intelligence Analyst to join our
Commercial Operations team. Reporting directly to and working very closely with the VP of
Market Intelligence and Strategy, this role will play a critical part in analyzing complex
datasets and delivering actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal
candidate will possess strong technical skills, an ability to synthesize data across different
sources, and a deep interest in economic and market trends primarily affecting the natural gas
industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Integration and Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from
various internal and external sources to support forecasting and market analysis.
• Insight Generation: Translate complex data into meaningful insights / hypotheses that
inform market strategies, investment decisions, and operational priorities.
• Market and Economic Research: Monitor macroeconomic and microeconomic
indicators, energy demand trends, regulatory developments, and competitive activity to
anticipate market shifts.
• Reporting and Visualization: Develop dashboards and reports using tools like Power
BI, R, or Python to present data insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Scenario Modeling: Support the development of data-driven models to project
customer spending, market growth, and other key performance indicators.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, or a related
field. Master’s or PhD a plus.
• 1-5 years of relevant work experience
• Interest in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
• Foundational knowledge of financial terms and metrics
• Proficiency in SQL, R, or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools. Experience with
Salesforce a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends.
• Developing communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical
information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity and dogged interest in economic indicators and market dynamics affecting the
natural gas sector
