Data Center Design M&E Consultant

Job Description

HPE Sustainable DC Modernization (SDCM) offers strategic consulting, design, and operational assurance services to help build new data centre facilities and upgrade existing ones for both enterprise and service provider clients.

The SDCM PS – GCC delivery team is looking for an experienced data centre design consultancy to provide Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) concept and detailed design services. This includes expertise in Tier level knowledge, CAD standard, M&E CAD, SLD, schematic and layout drafting, heat load calculations, hydraulic calculations, ETAP calculations, and engineering support for global data centre facility projects.

Experience

· 5 to 10 years of M&E design consultancy experience

· 5+ years of experience in the Mission Critical / Data Center Facilities Services business

· Consultants must have Mechanical and Electrical facility engineering

· Breaker co-ordination study in ETAP software or relevant software

· Lighting calculation reports in DIALUX software or relevant software

· Heat load calculation using Trane Trace 700 software or relevant software

· Expertise in greenfield, brownfield, and modular data centers

· Chartered or Licensed Engineer

· Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certified

· Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) certified

Requirements & Skills

· Possess a strong technical knowledge base to lead the concept and detailed design, as well as oversee the implementation of mechanical or electrical systems in data center facilities.

· Capable of delivering concept reports and detailed designs for data center mechanical or electrical systems, including Tier-level expertise, M&E CAD, SLD, schematic and layout drafting, heat load calculations, hydraulic calculations, ETAP calculations, and other engineering services.

· Understand and define customer needs and requirements.

· Collaborate with other subject matter experts within the project team.

· Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Ensure projects are executed according to design briefs and timelines by conducting regular design reviews with engineers from other disciplines.

· Work closely with the design team to create coordinated, compliant designs of consistent quality and standards. Contribute positively to design/project meetings and maintain ongoing in-house design reviews and checks.

· Monitor and control project progress, design changes, and financial budgets.

· Effectively manage project staff and supervise assisting engineers.

· Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes across all projects.

· Serve as Principal Consultant and Design Lead, coordinating the development of multi-disciplinary solutions for large, complex projects.

· Provide expert consulting advice, establishing strategic direction for customers based on company solutions, industry best practices, and current trends.
