Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Database & Cloud Advisory Specialist with strong expertise in SQL Server and Oracle, along with working knowledge of MongoDB (optional). The role is primarily advisory in nature, focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Observability, Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR), and GCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine). The candidate will play a key role in guiding teams and clients through cloud migration planning and ensuring best practices in database management and cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Advisory: Provide expert guidance on SQL Server and Oracle databases (MongoDB as optional), covering design, deployment, optimization, and migration.
  




• Cloud Strategy: Advise clients on leveraging GCP Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, and GCVE for enterprise workloads.
  




• Observability & Monitoring: Recommend best practices for system observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability.
  




• Backup & DR: Develop and review strategies for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) aligned with business continuity goals.
  




• Migration Planning: Guide stakeholders through migration roadmaps, including assessment, planning, and execution strategies for moving workloads to GCP.
  




• Performance & Optimization: Identify and advise on performance tuning opportunities for databases and cloud-hosted applications.
  




• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with client executives, architects, and technical teams to align database and cloud strategies with business objectives.
  




• Best Practices & Governance: Ensure compliance with cloud governance, security standards, and data management policies.
  




• Knowledge Sharing: Provide thought leadership, documentation, and training to internal teams and client stakeholders.
  

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
  




• Hands-on or advisory experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, GCVE).
  




• Strong knowledge of observability tools, backup, and DR planning.
  




• Excellent communication and advisory skills for working with senior stakeholders.
