Data Engineer

We are looking for a Sr. Data Engineer based in Chennai to support data pipelines, databases, and the technical delivery of data for the ProsperFleet solution. The ideal candidate will have hands\-on experience with database\-driven products, ETL, API development, data ingestion, and data science support. This role requires a self\-starter who can collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders, drive production\-ready results, and contribute to continuous improvement in a rapidly changing environment. Remote work may be granted on a case\-by\-case basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and document data governance, metadata, and cataloging standards for the data pipeline.
  




• Create and maintain documentation for all technical processes from requirements to coding to QC.
  




• Work with domain owners, database managers, and QC analysts to ensure deliverables meet business requirements.
  




• Leverage APIs for automated data cleansing, transformation, validation, and migration.
  




• Support the database manager in developing, maintaining, and managing the data environment.
  




• Ensure readiness of data delivery via apps, extensions, APIs, CRM integrations, and custom datasets.
  




• Ingest licensed, public, scraped, and derived data, as well as updates for verticals like OEM, EV, research, capital markets, and dealers.
  




• Implement business requirements for ETL, integrations, analytics, and visualization in production.
  




• Build data platforms on AWS, Snowflake, Elastic, and other marketplaces for data delivery.
  




• Support app and data science developers to ensure data availability for development, testing, and releases.
  




• Apply Agile and Waterfall best practices for product deliverables using Jira or Zoho Project.
  




• Promote a performance culture focusing on priority and value\-add.
  




• Support exploratory and predictive analysis for new fields, customization, and data science activities.
  




• Create derivatives of the data platform to support sales, marketing, and sample data generation.
  

Key Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands\-on experience in database product/platform roles with API integration (C#) and intermediate to expert Python.
  




• Deep knowledge of interoperability between applications, databases, and delivery methods.
  




• Strong experience in data engineering, pipelines, and handling high\-volume, multi\-dimensional databases.
  




• Experience designing, building, and leading product lifecycle management from front\-end to back\-end.
  




• Knowledge of company/contact database matching rules, validation, deduplication, survivorship, and hierarchy data.
  




• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering; certifications in project management, analytics, or databases preferred.
  




• Master’s degree is a plus.
