Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong data engineering and reporting expertise to join our team. In this role, you will design and build scalable data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources—including databases and APIs—and transform complex datasets into meaningful insights through reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate has strong Python programming skills and a proven track record of developing high-quality reporting solutions, with experience in Power BI strongly preferred. Exposure to the hedge fund or broader financial services industry, along with experience working with Snowflake, will be considered a strong advantage.

• Extract, clean, and transform data from relational databases and third-party APIs

• Design, build, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards (Power BI preferred)

• Write and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation, and analysis

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reporting deliverables

• Optimize queries and data pipelines for performance and reliability

• Document data sources, transformation logic, and reporting processes

• 5–8 years of relevant professional experience

• Hands-on experience retrieving data from both databases (SQL) and APIs

• Strong report building and data visualization skills; Power BI experience strongly preferred

• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation

• Solid understanding of data modeling and query optimization

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

• Domain knowledge of hedge funds or the broader financial services / investment industry

• Experience working with Snowflake
