Data Lake Engineer

The Role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Integration and Data Lake Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data integration solutions and Microsoft Data Lake technologies. In this role, you will play a key part in building robust data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and ensuring that data assets are reliable, secure, and accessible across the organization. 

The role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration, data lake, and data warehousing solutions that support data driven decision-making and enterprise analytics initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

Data Integration & Engineering 

• You will design, develop, and deploy ETL processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and other ETL tools as . 

• You will develop and maintain data pipelines for Microsoft Data Lake platforms, ensuring efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage. 

• You will implement and optimize data warehouse models and architectures to meet business requirements and performance standards. 

• You will monitor and maintain ETL jobs and data workflows to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability. 

• You will troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues and performance bottlenecks across pipelines and platforms. 

Collaboration & Delivery 

• You will collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. 

• You will contribute to data architecture discussions, roadmap planning, and strategic data initiatives. 

• You will define and promote data integration standards, best practices, and governance policies across delivery teams. 

Governance, Quality & Documentation 

• You will ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are consistently applied across data solutions. 

• You will develop and maintain technical documentation, including data flow diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures. 

• You will stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in ETL, data warehousing, and cloud based data lake technologies. 

Skills 

Required Skills 

• You should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. 

• You should have 5+ years of experience in ETL development, data warehousing, data integration, and data lake technologies. 

• You should have proven expertise in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), including installation, configuration, and development of complex mappings and workflows. 

• You should have Hands on experience with Microsoft Data Lake technologies such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics. 

• You should have strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data modelling, and performance tuning techniques. 

• You should have experience working with big data technologies and distributed data processing frameworks. 

• You should have familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation and operational tasks. 

• You should have a solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and data security principles. 

• You should have experience developing data solutions that support analytics and reporting, including integration with Power BI.

• You should have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. 

• You should have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

• You should have experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments. 

• You should have strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. 

• You should have fluency in English, both written and spoken. 

Preferred Experience 

• You should have experience working with Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse, OneLake, Pipelines, or Notebooks. 

• You should have experience migrating data from on-premises or legacy systems to cloud based data lake or data warehouse platforms. 

• You should have exposure to CI/CD practices for data pipelines and ETL workflows. 

• You should have experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for source control, deployment, and release management. 

• You should have familiarity with data cataloguing, metadata management, or lineage tools. 

• You should have experience supporting largescale analytics or reporting platforms consumed by business users. 

• You should have relevant certifications in Azure, data engineering, or cloud technologies.
