Data Privacy | Tier 1 Law Firm

We are hiring a Data Privacy Lawyer for a leading Tier 1 law firm. The selected candidate will be based in Mumbai or Bengaluru and will be advising on a broad range of data privacy, technology, intellectual property, and related legal matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced privacy lawyers to work on sophisticated matters involving data protection, privacy compliance, technology, IP, and digital businesses, while working closely with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of data privacy and data protection matters, including regulatory and compliance requirements.


• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements, policies, notices, and contractual provisions.


• Advise on the collection, processing, storage, sharing, and transfer of personal data.


• Support clients on privacy compliance frameworks, risk assessments, and implementation of data protection requirements.


• Advise on cross-border data transfers and evolving domestic and international privacy regulations.


• Handle legal and regulatory issues arising in technology, digital, commercial, and IP-related matters.


• Conduct legal research and provide practical, commercially focused advice on emerging privacy and technology issues.


• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive legal matters.


• Support on matters involving IP and/or TMT, depending on the candidate's area of expertise.

Candidate Profile

• LL.B. from a recognised university.


• 4–6 years of post-qualification experience with substantial experience in Data Privacy / Data Protection.


• Strong experience in either Data Privacy + IP or Data Privacy + TMT.


• Strong understanding of applicable Indian data privacy and technology laws.


• Experience in privacy advisory, compliance, contractual matters, and/or technology-related legal work.


• Strong drafting, analytical, research, negotiation, and communication skills.


• Ability to independently manage complex legal matters and provide commercially practical advice.


• Candidates with law firm experience as well as relevant in-house experience will be considered.


• Candidates who have transitioned from a law firm to an in-house legal role are also welcome to apply.

-Candidates with a combination of Data Privacy + IP or Data Privacy + TMT experience will be strongly considered.

-Candidates currently working in-house, including those with prior law firm experience, will also be considered.
