Job Description - Data Scientist – Demand Forecasting


Position / Role: Data Scientist – Demand Forecasting

 

Department: Supply Chain

 

Location: Hyderabad

 

Experience: Min 5 to Max 10 Years





Qualification: B.Tech (Preferably Computer science / Data Analytics), MBA / Masters (preferable)

 

Industry / Sector: Any





Working Days: 6 Days (Monday to Saturday)





Office Timings: General Day Shift

 

Job Responsibilities




·        Create forecasting models for Omni Channel Supply Chain, integrating inputs from marketing / Category / Operations, Historical sales, Product Display page (PDP) views, Online search, Offline store bounce etc.
·        Create demand signals for both retail and online businesses and improve models through iterative simulations.
·        Create a data pipeline to capture demand and sales patterns on a real time basis.
·        Create and measure Supply Chain metrics (MAPE etc) and build automated dashboards to measure the forecasting accuracy / efficiency.
·        Work with multiple teams and provide insights on growth levels, focus areas, Average Bill Value (ABV) improvements
·        Identify high value customers, their buying patterns and create strategies to improve customer retention and conversion.

 

Desired Job Knowledge/Skills



·        In-depth knowledge of Python/R/SQL.



·        Good command over Azure Data Services:

o   Azure Data Fabric – Data integration, processing, and management.

o   Azure Data Factory – ETL and data orchestration.

o   Azure Synapse Analytics – Data warehousing and analytics.

o   Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) – Scalable data storage.

o   Azure Blob Storage – Unstructured data storage.

o   Azure DevOps – CI/CD pipelines for ML models



·        Previous experience in Machine Learning (ML) & Artificial Intelligence (AI) modelling



·        Experience with Big data & Distributed Computing: Apache Sparks / Delta lake architecture



·        Hands on experience in Power BI & Visualization tools



·        Previous experience in building ML/AI modelling and Demand forecasting.
