Responsibilities:

Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Design and implement database structures, tables, indexes, and views to support application requirements.
Collaborate with software developers and data analysts to understand data needs and translate them into efficient database solutions.
Perform database performance tuning and query optimization to enhance system responsiveness and efficiency.
Manage and monitor database backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve database -related issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
Implement and enforce database security best practices, including access control and data encryption.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and user guides.
Stay up -to -date with industry trends and best practices in database development and administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a SQL Developer with 3 to 5 years of hands -on database development using Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
Experience with performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
Proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other database tools.
Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection methods.
Excellent problem -solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross -functional teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

Microsoft SQL Server certification (e.g., MCSA: SQL Database Development).
Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
