Job Summary: 

We are looking for a skilled, process -oriented, and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) with 3–5 years of experience in managing enterprise databases and cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong hands -on expertise in RDBMS technologies such as DB2 and columnar cloud databases, preferably Snowflake, along with exposure to DevOps tools and containerized environments such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Git.

The candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, automation, deployment support, and ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and adherence to operational processes and standards across enterprise data platforms.

Experience: 3 -5 Years 
Location: Bangalore
Mode of Work: Full Time
Education: BE/BTech/MBA/MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain RDBMS environments, primarily DB2.
  • Manage and support columnar cloud database platforms, preferably Snowflake.
  • Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database performance.
  • Support database migration, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.
  • Follow and contribute to standardized operational processes, documentation, change management, and governance practices.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA, incident management, release management, and compliance procedures.
  •  Support CI/CD and DevOps processes related to database deployments and infrastructure automation.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for release management and environment provisioning.
  • Work with containerized and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Utilize Jenkins pipelines for deployment automation and operational workflows.
  • Maintain version control and configuration management using Git.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices are followed.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with RDBMS technologies, specifically: 
  • IBM DB2
  • Hands -on experience with columnar cloud databases: Preferably Snowflake
  • Strong knowledge of SQL scripting and query tuning.
  •  Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices. 

Experience with:

  •  Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git/GitHub/GitLab, Understanding Linux/Unix administration.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting or Python for automation is preferred.

  • Experience working within defined IT processes, change management, and documentation standards.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
