Hybrid Cloud - Database and Cloud Engineer Senior

Job Description               

Hybrid Cloud 

Database and Cloud engineer will help provide the support for the specific highly technical and intricate functions that are under the auspices of the Database Platforms – MS SQL, Oracle, No-SQL DBs and Cloud Native DBs.  The specialist will perform a range of transformation, implementation, migration, upgrade, and consulting tasks such as but not limited to the following roles and responsibilities:

• Creating and maintaining the data architecture/models to increase the robustness, performance, and scalability of systems


• Taking ownership of the design and development of the database layers


• Data modeling, and preparing solutions and designs for OLTP systems


• Develop database architectural artifacts such as Logical Data Model, System Conceptual model, etc.


• Should be able to design enterprise scale systems for very large transactional as well as reporting data, using Database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, No-SQL DBs and Cloud Native DBs.


• Should be able to gauge the existing system’s / application’s design, performance, and/or implementation issues and work on short term plans, proofs of concepts, actual implementation to help circumvent or ideally, resolve the issues.


• Lead the solution architecture and design effort on complex applications and their eco-systems. Ability to do so from scratch, as needed.


• Work closely with business and IT partners during early SDLC phases to understand the business capabilities and goals for the program.


• Desired Profile The candidate should have over 4 years of in-depth experience in the database and Public Cloud domain


• 4+ yrs. of experience in DB management, Architecture Design and Implementation of multiple DB technologies


• 4+ yrs. experience Database administrator with primary DB skills on Oracle/MSSQL with exposure to No-SQL DB's, Cloud Native DB's


• 2+ yrs. Hands-On experience in managing DB Migration (Homogeneous -Oracle to Oracle ) & Heterogeneous (e.g. Oracle to PostgreSQL, Oracle to MongoDB etc. )


• 2+ yrs. experience in managing DB migration from On-Prem to Public Cloud


• 3+ yrs. experience Handled upgrades for Oracle/MSSQL to 12c/19c/MSSQL 2019 etc.


• 2+ yrs. experience with building and operating highly available and DR database infrastructure solutions


• 2+ yrs. Experience in providing recommendations to App team for performance optimizations


• 1+ yrs. experience on No-SQL Database technologies (e.g. Cassandra, use-cases for migration from RDBMS to No-SQL


• 2+ yrs. experience on DB Automation / Life Cycle Management / Operational Optimizations


• 1+ yrs of experience on any one of the Public Cloud (AWS, Azure & GCP) services management


• High level knowledge around data analytics acquired either through training or supporting such engagement along with DBA


• High level knowledge of database integration with AI workload


• Excellent Communication skills (written/verbal)


• Experience on Presales/RFP's/RFI/Consulting a big plus


• High level exposure around database architect is a big plus

Education     

• B.Tech. / BS in Computer Science; M.Tech / MS in Computer Science

Technical Certifications             

Relevant OEM Level Certifications from are preferred:

• Certified on Oracle DBMS


• Certified on MS SQL DBMS


• Certified on Opensource DBs


• Certified on Cloud Native DBs


• Certified on any Public Cloud
