Database Support Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 2500000 - Rs 3500000 (ie INR 25- 35 LPA)

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related technical issues, with a strong focus on SQL.
• Support database connectivity, drivers, and client integrations.
• Assist customers with database features, performance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
• Ensure timely resolution of support tickets while meeting SLA commitments.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Database Support or Database Administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and SQL scripting.
• Good understanding of Data Warehousing (DWH) and Business Intelligence (BI) concepts.
• Experience with database connectivity, ETL tools, reporting tools, and database drivers.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or Lua.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting enterprise database platforms.
• Customer-facing technical support experience.
• Ability to handle critical production incidents and work within SLA-driven environments.
