DCN Structural Engineer

Job Description\n\nThe role of Structural Engineer is to support the Engineering Lead and Product Engineering Manager. They will be accountable for the mechanical and piping-structural scope and systems in large scale data centres across the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the overall structural scope of work for Hyperscale Data Centre Modules meets customer\u2019s requirements and Industrial Standards.\n\nThe position reports to the Engineering Lead.\n\nSuccessful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.\n\nRoles and Responsibilities:\n\n * Checking and approving drawings, information and documentation which meets Industrial standards and code to enable the manufacturing group and other departments to produce Data Centre Infrastructure Modules\n * Review and monitor Engineering work, as required, to assure accuracy and conformance with Client and / or Company Specifications, governing codes, good engineering practices, good safety practices, project procedures, and job requirements.\n * Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials)\n * Prepare and complete various mechanical engineering deliverable drawings, documents, and calculations\n * Interprets, organizes, executes assignments in a self-driven and self-sufficient manner\n * Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.\n * Advise and assist project and discipline engineers with the interpretation and clarification of applicable industry Codes and Client Specification requirements\n * Review \u201cas-built\u201d drawings and re-run or check calculations, as required, to ensure conformity.\n * Represent company with customers during review meetings. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.\n * Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to RFIs and addressing any issues that arise.\n\n\n\nQualifications and Experience:\n\n * Bachelor of Engineering / Technology Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.\n * A minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in structural design and engineering of equipment, with a focus on data centre infrastructure.\n * Strong knowledge in structural analysis design and construction of structural steel frames, skids, and equipment modules.\n * Proven experience with troubleshooting of welded structures, in depth knowledge of welding practices, and weld connection designs.\n\n\n\n * Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to:\n\n\n\nAISI \u2013 American Iron and Steel institute\n\nAISC \u2013 American Institute of Steel Construction\n\nANSI \u2013 American National Standards Institute\n\nASTM \u2013 American Society of Testing and Materials\n\nAWS \u2013 American Welding Society\n\nIBC \u2013 International Building Code\n\nMFMA \u2013 Metal Framing Manufactures Association\n\nOSHA \u2013 Occupational Safety and Health Administration\n\nNFPA \u2013 National Fire Protection Association\n\n * Mastery knowledge in:\n\n\n\nBentley STAAD PRO (RISA would be considered but not preferred)\n\n * Operational knowledge in:\n\n\n\nSAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)\n\nSolid Works\n\nAutodesk Revit\n\nAutodesk BIM 360\n\nAutodesk AutoCAD\n\nNavisworks Manager / Freedom\n\n * Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.\n\n\n\nSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
